Options Counselor

In its role as the Area Agency on Aging & Disabled, West Central Indiana Economic Development District has an immediate opening for a full-time Options Counselor in its Aging & Disability Resource Center (ADRC). Responsibilities include: providing person centered needs assessments, counseling and referrals, assistance with Medicaid Applications, initial service plan development, and intake/screening of older adults and persons with disabilities.

Position requires a Bachelorís degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Counseling, Gerontology, Nursing or Health & Human Services; or a registered nurse with one yearís experience in human services. However subject to the approval of the Indiana Family & Social Services Administration/Division of Aging (FSSA/DA), a Bachelorís degree in any field with a minimum of two yearsí full-time, direct service experience with the elderly or disabled (including assessment, care plan development, and monitoring) may be substituted for specific degrees listed above. Incumbent must attend and successfully complete the FSSA/DA Division of Aging, Case Management Orientation Course within 90 days of employment and attain/maintain certification as a Case Manager.

Case Manager

Responsibilities include accurately assessing the social, emotional and environmental needs of elderly and disabled clients; developing and maintaining client care plans; implementing care plans by linking clients with needed services; and providing on-going monitoring and re-assessment of clients as required by State and Federal program rules and regulations.

Community/Economic Development Planner I

The Agency has an immediate opening for a part-time (25 hours per week) Community/Economic Development Planner I in its Economic Development Division. Incumbent performs a variety of paraprofessional planning tasks at the office, and in the field, including basic intake and review of grants and development proposals, basic file research and maintenance, and map reading; prepares simple technical reports; creates and maintains databases, spreadsheets and presentations; and assists planners with research and planning studies. 

Position requires strong Microsoft Office skills and an Associate's Degree in a related field of study, and at least one year of experience providing technical or administrative support in an environmental, planning, mapping, architectural, civil engineering, or related agency or organization.

Covering Kids & Families Program Coordinators

The Agency has immediate openings for a full-time (40 hours per week) and part-time (25 hours per week) Covering Kids & Families Program Coordinator in its Aging & Disabled Services Division. Incumbent provides program support to help the Agency fulfill its responsibilities as the Lead Agency for the West Central Indiana Coalition of Covering Kids and Families Indiana (CKF-IN).  Incumbent provides outreach, enrollment assistance, support and services that help the Agency, the Coalition and CKF-IN expand access to health coverage for uninsured or underserved children and families in West Central Indiana. 

Positions requires a Bachelorís Degree in an appropriate field of study such as health care, communications, marketing, insurance and risk management, public relations, etc. An Associateís Degree with a minimum of 24-months relevant field may be substituted. Succesful applicants must attain/maintain certification as an Indiana Navigator by the Indiana Department of Insurance (IDOI) within 120 days of employment.
