Economic Development
WCIEDD's Economic Development program centers around a professional staff that provides technical assistance in the areas of Business, Government, Economic Development, and Community Development. The goals of the program are to reduce unemployment and underemployment, halt out-migration, increase the tax base and upgrade community facilities and services. The program accomplishes this with the help of local government, county economic development organizations, the Indiana Office of Rural Affairs and the U.S. Economic Development Administration. West Central has been designated by the county commissioners as the Area-Wide Planning Organization that serves the Indiana counties of Clay, Parke, Putnam, Sullivan, Vermillion, and Vigo. Our team is available to assist local businesses, government units and resource groups with economic development projects.
